A PURPOSE….

Incorporated as a provincial organization in 1999, the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists – British Columbia Chapter (CADA/BC) is a membership of dance artists working together to raise the professional standards within our employment sector.  Whether the artist is a choreographer, a dancer, an artistic director – or a mix of all three – professional standards serve us all: Safety, Respect and Financial Security are all established through having recognized and agreed professional standards.

CADA/BC represents the interests and concerns of our members at political and community meetings at the municipal, provincial and national levels.  We work with other dance service organizations in BC and across Canada to support already existing community services and identify new opportunities.  CADA/BC also serves as a resource for several Arts Councils for fees & rates within the dance arts milieu.

As the CADA/BC membership grows to encompass dance artists across the full breadth of the dance arts sector, we look forward to working together to bring the business of Dance to the same level of excellence as the expression of our Art!
